How to Create a Shortcut Icon

Prayer Journal runs from your phone’s web browser, but it’s designed to be treated like an app. Here’s how to add a shortcut icon to your home screen for easy access.

Android

Navigate to the Prayer Journal home page (or prayers page) and click the “three dots” icon that is located near the top right of Chrome’s window. From there slect the “Add to homescreen” option.

Provide the name of the bookmark. I renamed it to Prayer Journal. Then click the “Add” button.

Once this is done, you’ll see the icon on your home screen that you can move around.

iOS

Navigate to the Prayer Journal home page (or prayers page) and click the “menu” icon that is located at bottom center of Safari’s window. From there select the “Add to Home Screen” option.

Provide the name of the bookmark. I renamed it to Prayer Journal. Then click the “Add” button.

Once this is done, you’ll see the icon on your home screen that you can move around.

Windows Phone 8

A special tile has been created to be used on the home screen for Windows Phone 8. Navigate to the “App Store” page and scroll down to the “Windows Phone” section. Click the link to bring up the special tile screen.

When the screen appears, click the three dots at the bottom right and select “Pin to Start”.

Once this is done, you’ll see the icon on your home screen that you can size and move around.
